New School Attendance Polilcy

The AISD Student Handbook includes changes this year regarding student absences. The new handbook will be added to the AISD website when the school year begins. Meanwhile, here is a synopsis of the most relevant changes:

Reasons an absence shall be considered excused/absent: illness or death in the family of the child; quarantine of the child and family; weather or road conditions making travel dangerous; Aledo ISD Post-District UIL event; or college visit with older sibling.

Reasons, not limited to, an absence shall be considered unexcused/absent: shopping; personal; vacation; non-Aledo ISD-sponsored sports tournament and activities; car trouble; non-medical appointment; missed bus; or illness other than the immediate family.
Welcome to New Vandagriff Staff

Vandagriff is pleased to welcome our new staff.
Kim McClure is our new Resource/Content Mastery Teacher; David Sweeney is our new Assistant Principal; Phillis Bunch will be our Music Teacher; and Jennifer Smith is our new Fourth Grade Teacher (not pictured). A huge Vandagriff Welcome to each of you.

Transportation

Transportation

Aledo ISD parents are asked to register their children for transportation services by clicking on the link†HERE.† If the district transported your children last year, and you want them to ride again this year, you will need to complete the survey. If you have already completed the survey, there is no need to do it again.Questions? Call 817-441-5141.† †
AISD Director of Transportation Steve Bond said school bus transportation is the safest mode of transportation- there is no safer way to get students to or from school or extracurricular events than by school bus. He also noted that parents, students and other drivers need to know how to help bus drivers provide safe transportation. Visit the Aledo ISD District Page for tips and to read more.
