Bad Weather Days

Bad Weather Make-up Days
Friday, April 18
Monday, May 26

Aledo ISD has experienced an unusually high number of school cancellations due to weather issues this year. According to the adopted school calendar, two of the make-up days will occur on April 18 and May 26.
The district requested waivers from the Texas Education Agency for the remaining number of missed days. The commissioner approved the request, so the remaining four days missed will not have to be made up. The last day of school is Thursday, June, 5.

Thank You

Thank you Vandagriff Students and Family!
Your support in our special bookfair for Kelsie and her family raised $2028.39. Her family appreciates this much needed support both monetarily and emotionally during this time of recovery. It is wonderful being part of a school that cares and supports each other.

STAAR Testing

Tuesday, April 22:
Grades 3 & 4 Math

Wednesday, April 23:
Grades 3 & 4 Reading
Grade 5 Science

In order to provide an optimum testing environment, we ask that there be no visitors to campus on testing days, April 22-23. Quiet lunches will be in place for all grade levels during the testing period, so we encourage you to have lunch with your child on days other assessment days.
If you have a child that is testing, it is very important that they be on time to school, especially on testing days. We will begin testing first thing in the morning and the students will have four hours to take the test. Please insure that your child has had a good night of sleep and a healthy breakfast before testing begins. We want all students to have a positive start to the day so that they can do their best.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitat to contact the school. We appreciate your continued support!

To continue to insure the safety and security of the campus throughout the day, all exterior doors will remain locked. This includes the rear door by the cafeteria. All parents and visitors must be screened at the front door, check in at the office, and obtain a visitor's badge. Be sure to look at the camera and pause!
Our morning routine has not changed. Parents are welcome to drop-off sudents at the front door after 7:15 am, or walk students into the foyer and cafe area. No one is permitted down halls without wearing a badge.
