District Announcements
Ebola Information
Aledo ISD has fielded several calls from parents inquiring about the news of Ebola infections in Dallas. We are in contact with the Parker County Health Department and are getting guidance from them in our planned responses. To date, there are no reported cases of any staff, students, or family members connected with Aledo ISD that have been exposed to the Ebola virus or who are in isolation due to a potential exposure.

It is important to point out that, according to health officials, individuals are not considered contagious until symptoms appear. According to the Parker County Health Department there is no risk of infection to staff, students or family members who may have had indirect contact – through multiple degrees of separation – with someone who was potentially exposed or is in isolation. Students in Action
Vandagriff Students in Action
We currently have 2 programs in progress here at Vandagriff Elementary.  Both programs are sponsored by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Thank you for your support in these fundraisers. Keep in mind...every penny counts!

Student council is selling wrist bands for the "LIGHT THE NIGHT" walk in Fort Worth supporting our BEARCATS BATTLING BLOOD CANCER team.
We recognize our heroes, NICK&ZEB.  They are our former Vandagriff students currently battling leukemia. Once a Vandagriff student…Always a Vandagriff Student!   The bracelets can be purchased before school near the office.  The cost is $2.00 per bracelet or $5.00 for 3 bracelets. Please follow us online as we appreciate any donations as we walk to find a cure. Click here.

Students are also collecting "Pennies for Patients" through October 31st.  Collection boxes were sent home with students earlier this week.  All money goes to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  Last year we raised $2,005.00.  Classes are in competition to see which class can raise the most money.  Daily tallies are being made. The class who collects the most money will receive a water bottle and a “Barnes & Noble” day in Mrs. Jones Library.  Donations can be made online to the following: http://ntx.llsevent.org/vandagriffelementaryschool
